Michael Dean :: Blog :: Brown and 'Mr 10%'

The news today that leaked documents show that Brown was planning 'near' 10% cuts throughout government departs whilst attacking Cameron as 'Mr 10%' shows, in my view, a lack of integrity!

Being truthful is as much about the impression that one give. As I have said before, people can lie and tell the truth at the same time. It is simply a question of selecting the truths in order to give the wrong impression.

Brown can attack Cameron for being 'Mr 10%' and be planning 'near' 10% cuts himself. The words used are truthful but the impression given is false. To attack Cameron for doing, almost, exactly the same thing as Brown was planning to do is cynical and, in my view, lacking integrity.

I think that more and more people are realising that New Labour cannot be trusted and that they seem unable to actually govern the country in a way that looks after the interests of the people of the UK.

I get the distinct impression that they are only interested in looking after themselves!
